At Wayru, we firmly believe in a collaborative approach to realizing our mission of democratizing internet access. Our innovative Hotspot Pools ($HOT) exemplify this philosophy, forging a symbiotic relationship between $HOT holders, Hosts, and the broader community.

🔁 What are Hotspot Pools?

Hotspot Pools represent a groundbreaking way for individuals and entities to collectively invest in the infrastructure of the Wayru network. By participating in a Hotspot Pool, you become part of a collective that holds fractional digital ownership in multiple routers deployed across specific high-demand locations, represented by a crypto asset called $HOT. This initiative not only extends internet accessibility but also allows participants to share in the rewards generated by the hotspots they support. It's an innovative blend of asset ownership, community involvement, and shared earnings, all aimed at closing the digital divide.

🔥 How Hotspot Pools Work

Hotspot Pools are brought to life through the deployment of new hotspots by The Wayru Foundation, in partnership with local communities and entities. A unique aspect of Hotspot Pools is the minting of Shared Hotspot Ownership Tokens ($HOT), which signify your participation and stake in these pools. Each Hotspot Pool allows for the minting of a number of $HOT tokens, based on the amount of Hotspots in a pool. Each Hotspot has a limited supply of 12 tokens to ensure an equitable distribution of rewards. So if there are 100 Hotspots in a pool, there will be 1,200 $HOT available to the public. The price to mint a $HOT is set to $50 USDC, reflecting your share in the pool.

📍 Location Location Location

Hotspot in Hotspot Pools are strategically located in areas experiencing high WiFi traffic, often in places that private hotspot operators cannot easily reach. Wayru undertakes the deployment efforts of these hotspots, exemplifying our commitment to network growth.

Hosts: The success of each hotspot—and by extension, the Hotspot Pools—relies heavily on hosts. These are often local businesses or individuals who provide a location, electricity, and connectivity. Hosts play a pivotal role in making internet access accessible to all. In recognition of their vital contribution, hosts are duly rewarded, reinforcing the network's foundation and ensuring widespread internet accessibility.
